Samuel Sanmartin
Director of Registration
Samuel Sanmartin joined RIA Registrar in April 2026 as Director of Registration, bringing a strong background in public financial management, regulatory analysis, and government compliance. Prior to joining the firm, Sam served as a Financial Analyst with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation in the Division of Securities, where he conducted detailed reviews of registration applications to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory standards. In this role, he collaborated with attorneys, accountants, and regulatory stakeholders, utilizing data analysis to identify risks and support timely resolution of compliance matters.
Earlier in his career, Sam worked with the State of Florida Department of Management Services as a Benefit Specialist in the Division of Retirement, where he provided guidance on retirement benefits and ensured accurate processing of financial transactions in accordance with state regulations. He also gained experience in compliance and data analysis as an Analyst in Provider Relations with U.S. Legal Services, where he supported network expansion efforts and maintained credentialing standards.
At RIA Registrar, Sam oversees registration processes for investment adviser representatives, including new registrations, renewals, and terminations. He plays a key role in managing regulatory filings, supporting compliance initiatives, and ensuring efficient and accurate processing across jurisdictions.
Sam holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Financial Management from Florida State University, where he also earned a Certificate in Public Financial Management.
Outside of work, Sam is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and has a strong interest in financial literacy advocacy, and public finance. He enjoys running and golfing and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
